Here is a photo of Laurie, her four-legged family member Becky, and their new S-Works Amira with 11-speed Dura-Ace 9000! Simply put, the S-Works Amira SL4 is the lightest, stiffest, and fastest women’s bike around! It offers all of the advantages found on the 2013 S-Works Tarmac, but with the women’s touch that really separates Specialized from the rest of the industry. Along with the the usual S-Works suspects (Specialized S-Works FACT carbon crank set with ceramic bottom bracket, S-Works SL FACT carbon seat post), you should also expect to see the Specialized Women Specific shallow drop SL carbon handle bar and women’s specific carbon-railed Body Geometry Oura Pro saddle.
While we were excited to get our hands on the Dura-Ace 9000 group, the new Shimano isn’t the only feature that sets this bike apart: this is our first encounter with Specialized’s new 2013 Roval Rapide CLX 40 full carbon clincher wheel set. The 40mm-deep rim gives the wheel set the aerodynamic advantage of slicing through the wind, while preserving the handling capabilities of a box section rim. The set weighing in under 1400 grams certainly isn’t too bad either.
This bike is tour-proven and ready to eat up some pavement: have fun on it Laurie!
